The Go-To Pre-Workouts

INTRODUCTION

Pre-workout is what athletes use in order to get a boost in energy, endurance and a sort of adrenaline rush to get them through a workout or game that they play.  I’ve never been a regular user of pre-workout supplements, but if I do, I don’t go further than the natural ones which I’ll mention just now.

I won’t lie and say that I’ve never had experience with pre-workout and experienced the itch or the rush before, but it has never been something that I look to for that boost of energy in the gym or on the field, the energy can come from having that positive mindset before I get in the game and that sets the tone for how I perform usually.

THE NATURAL PRE-WORKOUTS

 

These are the go-to pre-workouts because they are the most natural, they are the easiest to make and probably the most cost-effective in that they can be bought in bulk at a cost that is less than R100 which is not what you can say about pre-workout supplements that go for about R200+ (I am still a student until further notice).

So if at some point during your fitness journey you decide you want something to add to boost the vibe of your workouts, remember 1. positive mindset (you’re gonna smash the session) 2. a banana and one tablespoon of peanut butter for increased energy stores to use throughout the workout 3. black or milk coffee for that spur of caffeine that gets your mind and body physically ready to start the workout and focus throughout. The first one is needed and the other two can be either or, but all three are optimal about 30 – 45 minutes before your workout to be at your best, so all the best and make it through your workout.

CONCLUSION

I’ve really needed to incorporate these recently because we have morning gym sessions at 6am and evening practices at 6pm for rugby and so I’ve needed that extra boost to get me going throughtout each of these sessions and it has really paid off in that I only feel off of a session at the end of it or if I’m not feeling it at all. You too, should try incorporate them when you feel you’re not getting enough out of your session and let’s connect!
