How Often to Train a Week

INTRODUCTION

This is something which I’ve altered so often since High School, I’ve literally went from 4 days to 3 to 5 and back to 3, it has all been a cycle, all with good reason as to why this happened. I totally believed that someone should train 4 days a week, upper body for two days and lower body days on the other, all alternating between each other with a rest in between.

Otherwise, as I’ve grown, done some research, I have found that there are many circumstances which allowed the way for me to train and split my workouts. It has been pretty depressing times too as I found myself going off the wagon quite often, there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just part of the process.

FACTORS AFFECTING HOW MUCH YOU TRAIN

1. What you are training for

2. Time you have to train during the week

3. Other extra murals you have

#10

These are questions you can ask yourself before committing to a certain schedule of training that can lead to you being drained or burnt out through pushing yourself too hard (Yes, there’s such a thing) during the week, so just to maybe help you through deciding on how and when to train during the week.

I answered these questions in the most objective way to ensure that I am maximizing my efforts in losing fat and gaining muscle which is the reason I am training the way I am but also I am training for rugby which has always been my initial reason for training. During the week I work 7:30 – 16:00 Monday to Friday and go to night classes on Monday and Wednesday pursuing my Bachelor Degree and I have rugby practice on Tuesday and Thursday and then a game on Saturday, so my week is pretty full and I was managing to go to the gym at least three times a week before rugby season started again but I think I will only be able to have two weight training days during the week from now on and will be documenting this.

CONCLUSION

I am going to be documenting more of my daily activities and workouts with the mission of inspiring people who are going through the same challenges to develop their dream physique while still trying to achieve mine and share my moments with you, the FAT Family.
