Evox 100% Whey Protein Advanced has been a popular option in South Africa for awhile. It can help you in achieving your fitness goals as a supplement in your nutrition. Whether you want to build muscle or lose fat.

The Evox website states that it is the highest quality Whey Protein Isolate, Hydrolysate and Concentrate for rapid absorption and lean muscle recovery and maintenance. This means that it contains a combination of processing of the whey protein.

Concentrate being less processed than isolate, having a lower protein to carbs and fat ratio. Whey Protein Hydrolysate is made by means of processing concentrate or isolate to a point that makes it easier or quicker to be digested through the breaking of amino acid bonds (the building blocks of proteins), in other words, being pre-digested.

Evox And Other Whey Protein Side Effects

Many whey proteins come with side effects that make them uncomfortable to continue using. They can cause stomach cramps, bloating or even diarrhea. I have been using the Evox Whey Protein for the past 3 months and it hasn’t caused any of these problems.

The other potential side effects that come as result of allergens are the fact that it contains milk and soy (from essential fat – Lecithin). It is also manufactured in a facility that processes egg, wheat (gluten) and nuts. These are all mentioned at the back of the tub as potential issues for allergic people though.

According to Healthline, there is conflicting research and studies that speaks of the effects of soy and soy products on testosterone. Some of the research states that these products reduce testosterone levels and the other research states that these products have no effects on a male’s testosterone levels.

Using Whey Protein for Weight Loss

Whey protein may be one of the best supplements to use when you want to lose weight.

Whey protein supplements are usually low in calories and fat. When you want to lose weight, it is best to lift weights, do cardio and be in calorie deficit (eating less calories than you burn). The issue comes when you are in a calorie deficit, but not maintaining the muscle that you build.

This is the importance of supplementing with whey protein, the extra protein intake will assist when you’re not getting enough protein from the food that you eat.

What Are 100% Evox Whey Protein Benefits

Whey protein in general is high in protein, low in calories, carbs and fat. The Evox 100% Whey Protein Advanced (Deluxe Double Dutch Chocolate):

  • It tastes great.
  • Doesn’t cause cramps, bloating or diarrhea.
  • The 908 g contains about 28 servings which is just below a month’s worth of servings.
  • There are 23 g of protein per serving which is more than 20 g of protein which I would say is minimum quantity a protein serving should have. It also has a total of 3 g of carbs and 1,7 g of fat per serving. Whey protein powder should contain at least 20 g of protein to be a great post-workout supplement. This is nearly 50% (35-40%) of the daily recommended intake.
  • R300 (excluding delivery fee) for 28 servings, so about R10-R11 per serving of 23 g of protein is a great deal.

Evox 100% Whey Protein vs Everlast Super Whey

The Everlast Super Whey was the last whey protein that I reviewed and gave it a 9/10.

Evox has more protein with 23 g to Everlast’s 20 g. Everlast has more servings with 30 to Evox’s 28. The taste I have got to give to both of them, because the recommend amount of water works well for both supplements. The pancakes that I made with Evox definitely tasted better, but I forgot to take pictures of it.

Evox is known for its great taste and this one is no different, I will be trying different flavors in future. This one will also go for 9/10, I want to try get the review stars that will be a lot more easier to navigate and honestly look a lot a cooler.

Get Yours at Dischem or Evox Website

This is the one thing that disappoints me about Evox products, they used to be easily available. You would be able to find them at the nearest Spar, Clicks and Dischem. They have now reduced their availability where you will only get them at Dischem or their website.
